KeNako boys shine at Glacier Series tournament at Oubaai

Two KeNako boys played very well in the Glacier Series tournament held at Oubaai this past weekend.  Glacier are putting on a total 30 junior tournaments around the country and the Southern Cape tournament attracted the best local junior players together with players from other regions including Cape Town and Johannesburg.

Garen Niemand finished 3rd in the A Division, scoring a 74 in very wet heavy conditions.  The course was literally under water just two days before the event after the flooding of last week so there was no run on the ball and the field experienced some tough and tight lies!  We wish Garen good golf over the next few weeks where he will be playing the NOOM events in the Western Cape, Limpopo and the SA Boys U16 at Somerset West GC. In the B Division part time KeNako student Caylum Boon scored an excellent 78 gross off his 7 handicap to win his division by a full 5 shots which was an outstanding performance. Caylum is punching above his weight at the moment but he will certainly challenge for victories in the older age groups once his body strengthens and  he starts hitting the ball further.

Well played boys
