KENAKO KINGS TEAM
‘ke nako’ is a Sotho saying that means ‘the time has come’ or ‘it is time’
KeNako is situated in the heart of the Garden Route, bordering the Kingswood & Fancourt Golf Estates. The region boasts some of the top courses in the country.
KeNako offers golfers of all ages and abilities an opportunity to grow their game through a number of opportunities which exist at KeNako.
THE KENAKO ACADEMY GOLF PROGRAMME
The Academy offers a variety of options for the golfer, depending on your requirements. During the year KeNako hosts the KeNako Schools Festival and a number of Holiday Camps.
The golf programme is headed by respected player and coach, Roger Wessels, an ex-tour professional and South African World Cup international . Both Roger and Carlo Kok, our other programme professional, work hand-in-hand managing the physical and mental skills programmes. The physical programme is conducted in KeNako’s gym whilst the mental skills programme happens in the KeNako Academy auditorium.

SCHOOL LEAVERS/GAP YEAR PROGRAMME
On finishing school, most young adults have little idea as to what they wish to do in their future lives. KeNako Academy offers an opportunity for a School Leaver to enrol for a yearlong programme that will allow them time to find their feet but simultaneously improve skills in many different ways. The students live in the fantastic academy facility where they will make lifelong friends with people from different countries of the world whilst participating in a golf or tennis programme that includes both physical and mental skills training. The physical and mental training programmes are designed to enhance skills on a broad basis and to develop excellent future life habits. Students wishing to study whilst at KeNako Academy are able to participate in selected academic options. Serious sports men and women as well as social players are welcome to attend the School Leaver Programme. The programme is adjusted to suit individual requirements.
GAP YEAR
|
A GAP YEAR WITH FOCUS
The GAP Year Programme at KeNako Academy offers a school leaver an opportunity to experience an enjoyable year whilst they find themselves and make some life decisions; all within a fun but disciplined environment. During their year at KeNako Academy the GAP Year student’s golf will show some serious improvement, as will their physical condition including their knowledge about their body. If interested, the GAP Year students also have an opportunity to study selected courses whilst at the academy. Another plus factor is that they are mixing with young champions, which in itself breeds positive traits. Experience shows that they forge new life-long and quality friendships. An amazing spirit prevails within KeNako Academy!
Be it recreational or professional, the game of golf lends itself to enhancing life skills – including aspects such as discipline, social skills, planning, management, personal responsibility and many other fundamental faculties essential to future life. |

FULL TIME STUDENTThe School Leaver programme is morning focussed, with the afternoons dedicated to playing time on one of the fabulous golf courses played by the KeNako Academy students. School Leavers train every morning and have free access to the Driving Range and the putting green where they are able to practice at any time. SHORT-TERM PROGRAMME.Young adults can join KeNako Academy for an intensive short term programme for a set period. This can be as short as 3 or 4 weeks or as long as 6 months in duration.

PROFESSIONAL GOLFERS
![]() |
GOLF AS A CAREERThe golf programme offers young golfers a positive environment where they can fully explore their talents surrounded by and competing with other like-minded young individuals. The KeNako Programme contributes to preparing young golfers for life as a touring professional golfer. The programme requires discipline, dedication, practice, self-assessment, and introspection, all with the support of the KeNako Professionals. Whilst the technical side of golf is critically important – players require a swing that is proficient and that will stand up under pressure – the physical and mental aspects of a successful career in golf are equally important. The intention of this element of the School Leaver programme is that once the student completes their training time at KeNako Academy, which could be just one year or an extended time (perhaps 3 years), they will be ready to enter and qualify for Tour School.

INDIVIDUALS
We provide total golf solutions with experts in each of the technical, physical, mental and nutritional disciplines. Besides the specialized professional support, KeNako offers first-rate practice and playing facilities and an on-site gymnasium with high-quality apparatus.
Most recreational golfers love the game of golf and have a desire to improve their games, but they are often ill-equipped to achieve their goals. They may have physical conditions that inhibit their ability to play more effectively; alternatively they may have physical limitations that they are unaware of and that need to be taken into account when working on their golf swing.
Recreational golfers can either work together with the KeNako professionals on a part-time basis or alternatively book an intensive 3-5 day golf programme that embraces all of the technical, physical and mental aspects relating to the game; one that will make a difference to their ability to play the game of golf.
