Breyten Meyer is a wonderful talent who was with the Academy in the final two years of his school career and has decided to play golf in his gap year with a lot more dedication and commitment. His effort levels have increased over the past few months and he has started getting himself into winning positions more regularly this year.Breyten had a chance to win the KeNako SA Juniors but could not close out the back nine on the last day and made a few mistakes. Roger, Steven and Breyten addressed a few issues after the event which have made a huge difference to his attitude and game resulting in an outstanding performance this past Sunday. Breyten won the George Open by 9 shots with scores of 68 and 73 on a golf course that played its championship length and rough that was extremely penalising.
It was very good preparation for this weekend’s Cape Province Open which is being played on the wonderful George Golf and Kingswood Golf Estate courses. Well done Breyten and good luck this weekend, KeNako and the George members will be watching with interest.
