Breyten was one of KeNako’s first students back in 2009, enrolling in that first intake of students as he entered his Grade 11 year.   He completed his schooling at Outeniqua Hoër Skool in 2010 and has dedicated the last two years to achieving his ambition of becoming a Tournament professional.  During this time Breyten has continued to work with KeNako’s team of professionals.Whilst playing junior golf, Breyten played for the Southern Cape junior teams at all age group levels.  He has subsequently represented the province at senior level and his continued participation in such events has given him a great deal of experience and helped him to develop his game.  Breyten has had his highs and lows over the past few years but he has shown steady improvement and a wonderful capacity to remain focused on his dream, even during the tough times.

Last week Breyten’s hard work and focus really started to pay dividends.  He enjoyed a wonderful tournament in the Western Cape Open at Mowbray Golf Club in Cape Town where, with many of South Africa’s leading amateurs playing, Breyten finished 3rd with scores of 68, 68, 71 and 68 – quality consistent golf which will no doubt help to build his self confidence and further reinvigorate his ambition as he continues to strive for his goal.

Breyten reached the semi finals in the Match play event of the tournament so it was a very successful week for this likeable and talented young man.
