Dream – Desire – Goals – Discipline – Determination – Direction
Success is Just Around the Corner!
KeNako has always stated that we cannot make any of our students professional golfers but our programs are designed to educate them so that they know what to work on and how to develop their skills to perhaps become professional golfers one day. How do we know that our programs will develop the necessary skills? The professional team at KeNako has many years of experience and knows what works. The challenge for the students is to trust that knowledge and commit to the program believing that the process will ultimately produce the desired results.
Equally importantly, KeNako is loath to judge ability in young students with a dream. Who is to say that the youngster with the higher handicap today will not be the champion of tomorrow. So many factors can influence current and future ability levels.
For some, success will come sooner than others and for many of those who do not achieve instant success the destructive attitude of frustration often sets in. This in turn dilutes or even destroys the dream and has an adverse effect on things like motivation, desire, commitment, discipline and determination. The journey to success should be as enjoyable as the destination itself. Quite often we lose sight of this and give up on our dreams and goals, not realising that success may just be around the corner.
This introduction is a special one for one particular student at KeNako Academy. We salute and congratulate Lydon Charnley – to a large extent Lydon had this scenario unfold at the Southern Cape Junior Order of Merit event played at Oubaai yesterday. Lydon has been with KeNako for just over two years and although his game has slowly improved his decent scores have been around 77 in tournament play.
Yesterday at Oubaai Lydon finally broke through with a magnificent round of 70 to win the tournament – by far his best ever competitive medal round and his first win in an Order of Merit event.
Congratulations Lydon, well played and may this be the start of many good tournament results.
