Jan Fourie visits the KeNako boys on the Karoo Challenge

On Tuesday 20th November KeNako’s Biokineticist, Jan Fourie, enjoyed the experience of a life time when he travelled with one of the Glenwood House Grade 10 parents in his helicopter to take supplies out to the group completing the Karoo Challenge.  The group was found camped on the banks of the Breede River, between Swellendam and Buffeljags River.

Being a surprise visit, all of the students were very excited to see someone from ‘civilization’.  The 5 KeNako Grade 10 students completing the Karoo Challenge were even more excited and very grateful when they received some letters and “goody bags” from their peers and colleagues at the KeNako Academy.  The boys couldn’t talk fast enough in telling Jan about their experiences of the past couple of weeks.  They related how the days have been very hot and the nights very cold.  Things they miss most are their families, shower, golf, Play Station and McDonald’s burgers and chips!

The boys have one more week to go as the Karoo Challenge finishes on Wednesday 28 November.
