New School of the Future at KeNako Academy!

The private school linked to the KeNako Academy is a new school with small beginnings. The 14 boys and one girl who commenced classes mid-January 2013 will receive the Cambridge on-line lessons within a supervised learning process – all in an interactive classroom format. In the afternoons those school students who are young aspiring golfers at the KeNako Academy receive tuition from SA PGA and British PGA golf professional Roger Wessels, who is their full time coach and mentor. Jan Fourie is the Biokineticist/physical instructor and Mariette le Roux the Psychologist and Mental Skills Coach. The current intake of students all board and live in a superb hostel that resembles an upper class hotel with recreational rooms, a state-of-the art lecture auditorium, swimming pool and fully equipped private gymnasium. This is all under the supervision of a housekeeper and boarding school supervisors.

Ron Boon, Chairman of KeNako Academy explained the school represents the realising of a dream. “The school is co-educational and takes cognizance of the need to provide young students with the skills to meet life’s challenges whilst adhering to a clear-cut set of values. Students are afforded the opportunity to function in a relaxed and stimulating environment; and together with the advanced educational programme it is a setting that will encourage and promote the freedom to express oneself. Discipline is a fundamental feature of the school.”

The Cambridge education and the supporting Learning on Line software programme that has been developed to support the Cambridge syllabus meets and beats expectations. Boon added “It is our intention to see its alumni leaving the school as affable, confident individuals who are proud of their heritage, aware of their greater responsibilities and equipped with the ability to make a difference – to achieve practically anything that they may set their minds on. Whilst personal milestones and achievement are important, of equal significance is a balanced and honest perspective of oneself, together with a team ethos and a respect for one’s peers.”

Social Responsibility and the green economy are other elements of the new school that will help to establish the school as an educational institution of the future.

The new school’s promise is “Progressive Education; Extraordinary People”.
