The 3 KeNako students who finished as the top three players in the Glacier Junior tournament held at The Links at Fancourt earlier this year were invited to play a round with John Bland at The Links. Good to see (from left) Franklin Manchest, James Pennington, John Bland and Johan Oosthuizen all walking up the fairway to their balls on the tough par 5 18th hole! Johan’s father Marius travelled up from Cape Town to watch the boys play their round with John. Special thanks are due to John for his generosity in playing with the boys.

John Bland plays his second shot to the par 5 18th hole. John turned professional in 1969 and enjoyed a very successful career. He is now 68 years old, but he still plays a wonderful game of golf. He was inducted into the Southern Africa Golf Hall of Fame in 2011.
