Heinrich Bruiners Gives Back to KeNako Academy

Since the beginning of 2012 Heinrich Bruiners has been training at KeNako Academy.  The work that he has done with Roger Wessels, KeNako’s Head Coach, together with the physical and mental coaching that he has received, has made a huge difference in Heinrich’s golf and in his career.  At the beginning of 2012 Heinrich was ready to give up on his dreams of playing the tours but after meeting with Roger Wessels and together devising a plan, he re-committed himself and it has been fantastic to watch his progress.  A couple of months ago Heinrich won his first Sunshine Tour title and he has had several other top finishes.  He is now exempt on the tour and setting his sights ever higher!

Heinrich recently relocated to Johannesburg to allow him to be closer to the action with respect to the Sunshine Tour.  He is currently spending some time in George training at the KeNako Academy and  he indicated his willingness to play with some of the students whilst in George.  Two days were set aside to allow two fourballs to play with Heinrich but unfortunately the weather forecast for Friday was shocking so a decision was made to get Heinrich to play 9 holes with two each of two groups of KeNako students on Wednesday at Kingswood.

The students thoroughly enjoyed the experience of playing with Heinrich and some of the comments made by the boys were as follows:

Jabulane – Heinrich is so consistent
Caylum – I enjoyed seeing how good you have to be to make it
Cameron – It was very enjoyable seeing how a touring pro plays and what it takes to get to the highest level
Hayden – I enjoyed meeting him, watching him play and how he carries himself on the course
Reinhardt – He is amazingly consistent
Alan – Heinrich was very approachable and was happy to give a few tips
Aidan – Heinrich commits to his shots and his putting is outstanding
Franklin – I found it exciting and enjoyed the way he spoke about playing the game.

Special thanks from the team at KeNako to Heinrich for his willingness to make a contribution to the students and to KeNako Academy.  This experience is yet another example of the quality of program enjoyed by the students at KeNako Academy.

Heinrich poses with (from left) Jabulane Mabilane, Hayden Garcia, Caylum Boon, Heinrich Bruiners and Reinhardt Claassen after they completed the back 9 holes on Wednesday. It is hadn’t been for a miserable weather forecasts for Friday each of the two groups of students would have enjoyed 18 holes with Heinrich.
