KeNako Students Help Southern Cape to Gain Promotion at IPT

The annual U19 Inter Provincial Tournament was played at Bellville in Cape Town in December.  KeNako Academy’s Golf Director and Head Professional, Roger Wessels, managed the Southern Cape team and they enjoyed a fantastic week, winning promotion to the A Division.  Cameron Moralee, Garen Niemand, Franklin Manchest and Johan Oosthuizen were the KeNako students who played for the Southern Cape.

2 KeNako students represented their home provinces.  Alan Lones and Hayden Garcia both enjoyed good weeks playing for Border and Western Province respectively.

2 KeNako Students Voted MVP’s at IPT
Not only did the KeNako students make an impact as players for their respective provinces, but two KeNako students earned additional laurels as MVP’s in both the A Division and the B Division.  Hayden Garcia, playing for the Western Province, was the MVP in the A Division whilst Johan Oosthuizen, representing the Southern Cape, was the MVP in the B Division.

Congratulations are due to all of the KeNako boys who represented their provinces at the IPT and also to those who narrowly missed selection.  There can be little doubt that the KeNako Academy has contributed substantially to the improved quality of junior golf in the Southern Cape region and it will surely not be long before the Southern Cape is a serious competitor to win the A Division at the IPT.  The province now has excellent strength in depth, despite having far fewer junior players (numerically) when compared to the major provinces in South Africa.
