KeNako Students Continue Fine Start to Year

KeNako students continued their fine start to 2014 by filling the top 8 positions on the Leaderboard at the KJS tournament played at Kingswood Golf Estate on Sunday.

Alan Lones, who joined KeNako at the beginning of 2013, continued with the excellent improvement he showed during 2013 by shooting a fine 2 under par 70 to win by a single shot from Cameron Moralee.  Alan has recently played some very consistent golf and he has elevated his game to a new level.  Cameron has become an incredibly consistent performer and seldom is he not competing for the winner’s prize at any tournament in which he participates.  In tied third position were James Pennington and Franklin Manchest.

Mandla Dlamini deserves special mention.  Like Alan, Mandla also joined KeNako at the beginning of 2013.  He comes from Swaziland and Sunday represented his best round yet since joining the academt program.  He was just one over par with 2 to play and unfortunately scored a double bogey at the very tough par 4 17th hole.  Mandla is becoming physically stronger with his training program and he is now starting to show the fruits of his efforts.

In the U13 Division played off the Ladies Tees young Martin Vorster from Mossel Bay played an outstanding round of 2 under par 70 to win by 4 shots from James Murray.  Martin is a very promising young talent.  James Murray too has shown excellent improvement and he scored his gross 74 off a 6 handicap, an excellent effort!  Luhan Bester finished in third place in the U13’s with a gross 75.[/fusion_builder_column][/fusion_builder_row][/fusion_builder_container]
