French citizen Julien Sale, who is due to join the KeNako Academy in July, won the inaugural World Amateurs Audi Reunion played at the Golf Du Bassin Blue golf course from 19th to 21st April 2014.
16 Year old Julien beat a strong international field that included players from Reunion, South Africa, Seychelles, Madagascar, Mauritius, France and the Vanilla Islands. His winning score of 217 (71, 73, 73) was an outstanding achievement on a tough golf course. Julien won comprehensively by 7 shots from ex-professional golfer Franck Michel, with 19 year old Ian Snyman from South Africa a further shot back in 3rd place, 8 shots behind Julien. Other prominent South African results included Dylan Kok finishing in a tie for 4th, with Josh de Klerk, who tied for 8th a whopping 18 strokes behind Julien. This emphasizes the quality of golf that Julien was able to sustain over the 3 days of the tournament. A total 97 players participated in the tournament.

Julien and his 12 year old brother Antoine will both be joining KeNako Academy and Rundle College from the start of the third term (July 2014). During March they visited the KeNako Academy for a week to meet and greet the professional team at KeNako Academy and also to interact with some of their student peers that they will be joining in the academy program and at school. The two boys thoroughly enjoyed their experience and KeNako Academy looks forward to hosting Julien and Antoine full time from July.
