Dannah Mosterd who turned 16 last month, joined Rundle College and KeNako Academy at the beginning of 2014. She is a champion cyclist and it is her ambition to one day compete for South Africa as a cyclist at the Olympic Games. She is already in the Western Province U16 team but her ambition is much greater – she is already competing in open company and doing extremely well. She is about to enter a series of qualifying races for the South African Championships which are due to take place in Bloemfontein in August. She has a very busy schedule but there can be little doubt that this super fit young lady will cope well and we expect to see her doing what is necessary to ensure her qualification for the SA Champs! This is her race program for the next week:
Saturday 28th June Tour de Plett – mountain bike – 40km’s
Sunday 29th June Individual time trial in Calitzdorp – road racing
Monday 30th June Road race in Calitzdorp – 65km’s
Wednesday 2nd July Cross Country Provincial Champs – Oudtshoorn
Thursday 3rd July Marathon Provincial Champs – Oudtshoorn – mountain bike – 55km’s
Saturday 5th July Mountain bike – Oyster Festival – 50km’s
Dannah boards in the KeNako hostel and is on a training program at KeNako Academy. She is currently studying her IGCSE’s and doing very well in school. This dynamic and dedicated young lady’s commitment and determination will no doubt see her achieving her dreams. We wish her enjoyable and successful racing for the forthcoming events.
