Swiss student David Morand joined KeNako Academy mid-September 2014.  He has written a summary of his first few weeks at KeNako Academy.  Included below is the French version.

“I landed in Johannesburg from Zurich on 24^th September.  The good thing about the flight to South Africa is that when you arrive from Europe you are basically on the same time zone.  Since my English was not very good I was quite stressed to catch the connecting flight from Johannesburg to George in the Southern Cape.  I asked the staff at the airport to help me and they were very friendly and I had no problem getting on to my connecting flight.

I was met in George by Mrs Boon and I was so pleased to meet her.  When I asked Mrs Boon if we were going straight to the academy she said ‘no, we are going to the beach to join the other academy students at Herolds Bay’.  What a surprise this was!  On the day that I arrived it was a public holiday in South Africa so the academy students had been bussed to the beach to enjoy the beautiful weather.  At Herolds Bay I saw Ernie Els’ house which is right on the beach.  It was nice to meet my new KeNako friends on the beach.

Before accepting to join the KeNako Academy we had done some research and asked other people who had been at KeNako or in the Southern Cape what KeNako Academy was like.  We heard good things but now that I am here I can say that it is even better than what I was expecting.

 

On weekends I go out with my friends, either to private homes or to the Mall or a restaurant.  This last weekend I travelled with two of my new best friends to East London which is about 6 hours from George.  I really enjoyed discovering South Africa.  This coming weekend I am playing my first tournament at Kingswood and I am really looking forward to this.

George is very beautiful.  The weather can change a lot from sunny in the morning to rain in the afternoon, but if it rains it is still warm.  KeNako Academy is between the mountains and the sea.

What else can I say?  The food is very good and I am very happy to be in South Africa at KeNako Academy.  I feel privileged to be at KeNako Academy.  Maybe I can also say that the girls in South Africa are beautiful!”

 

Le nouvelle étudiant suisse partage sont impression à propos de KeNako

L’étudiant suisse  à rejoint l’academy Kenako mi septembre 2014. Il écrit un résumé de ces première semaines à Kenako academy  en anglais et en francais.

“ J’ ai atterit à Johannesburg depuis Zurich le 24 septembre 2014 .  Le bon point des vols en South Africa ses quand on arrive depuis l’ Europe l’heure ne change pas. Avec mon anglais pas très avancé j’ai du me faire comprendre comme j’ai pu pour prendre mon escale de Johannesburg  à George, alors j’ai demandé au staff de l’aéroport pour savoir quelle direction je devais prendre pour rejoindre mon vol. Ils m’ont bien expliqué et très sympatique.

J’ai rencontré Madame Boon à l’ aéeroport de George  qui m’a pris en charge. Ensuite je lui et demandé si on allait  directement à l’academy, elle m’a répondu “ Non, on va à la plage rejoindre les autres étudiants à Herold’s  Bay “  Quelle surprise !!! Quand je suis arrivé pour mon premier jour s’était un jour de vacance alors ils profitaient du beau temps. A Herold’s Bay j’ ai vu la maison d’ Ernie Els qui et situé à côter de la plage

Avant que j’ accepte  de venir à Kenako on à fait des recherches et demandé à une  personne qui étais déjà  venu ici comment s’était etc… Il m’avait dit que s’étais super et que j ‘allais me plaire, mais ma première impression à mon premier jour et bcp plus positif que je pensais.

L ’academy  et une maison avec salle de gym, une salle pour le mental. Les coatchs sont vraiment très bien. Sa fait déjà 3 semaines que je suis à Kenako et je peux déjà voir une grande progression golfiquement et physiquement . Mon coatch Roger Wessels a joué comme joueur professionnel dans le tour pendant 20 ans. Il est aussi une personne très gentille. J’ai un coatch pour le fitness professionnel Jan-Harm qui m’aide énormément .

Je fais aussi 3 heures de cours d’anglais par semaines ( mardi, mercredi, jeudi ) avec monsieur Alex et je suis aussi très content et je prend beaucoup de plaisir de travailler avec lui. J’ ai rencontré deux français à l’academy qui eux on rejoint l’academy en juillet et qui ne parlais pas anglais et que maintenant, ils arrivent bien à communiquer avec les autres.

Les week end je sors avec mes amis, on va chez des amis faire des BBQ ou on va boire un verre au restaurant. La semaine passé j’ai voyagé aves mes deux meilleurs amis à East- London qui est à 6h de route depuis George ( l ’academy). Le week end qui viens je vais jouer mon premier tournoi à Kingswood et je suis vraiment très impatient.

George s’est vraiment très joli. Le temps peux beaucoup changer comme avoir grand soleil le matin et la pluie le soir, mais la température reste idéal et agréable.

Quoi d’autre que je pourrai dire ?  la nourriture et vraiment très bonne on mange bien et je suis vraiment très content d’être dans cette academy Kenako . OH oui je dois aussi dire que les filles en Afrique du Sud sont vraiment très belle !!!!
