Franklin Manchest, who lost a play-off against colleague Alan Lones on Sunday at the Southern Cape Junior Championships, scored a fantastic 1,5 points out of 2 in his singles matches against the South African Golf Association’s Junior Team and the Scottish team. Franklin was representing the South African Golf Development Board (SAGDB) at this annual International Triangular and it is the third consecutive year that he has made the SAGDB team, having made his debut as a 14 year old in 2013. Unfortunately Franklin was drawn to play against his KeNako Academy friend and colleague Cameron Moralee who was playing for the South African Junior team and Franklin managed to beat Cameron 2 up. Franklin halved his match against Jamie Savage of Scotland. We believe that Jamie is the Irish Junior Champion, so this was an excellent achievement by Franklin. Hayden Garcia, another KeNako student who has together with Franklin played in the last three International Triangular’s, also had a good day, beating Scotland’s Scott Gibson 1 up but losing to South Africa’s Kyle McClatchie. Congratulations to all of Cameron, Franklin and Hayden on being selected to play in this prestigious International Triangular.
