Alan Lones Loses Still Bay Open in play-off and then finishes second in U23 Championships

Alan Lones has enjoyed a very successful run of form in recent weeks.  The reigning Southern Cape Junior Strokeplay Champion finished joint 1st in the Still Bay Open, unfortunately losing the title in a play-off to Jacque Cloete, one of the Southern Cape’s top amateur players and then he finished second to KeNako colleague Andre Nel in the U23 Championships.  Alan played some outstanding golf, especially in the first round on the Still Bay Open when he shot a 5 under par 67 in the rain and wind.  The weather was so extreme that the players were called off the course after 9 holes of the second round.  Alan led going into the final 18 holes of the U23 Championships and despite continuing with his excellent form by shooting a 1 under par 71 he fell behind as Andre’s scored an impressive 67 in the final round.  Well played Alan!
