Andre Nel and Jade Buitendag both got off to excellent starts in the 72 hole Northern Amateur Open being played at Randpark Golf Club.  Andre and Jade both scored 5 under par 67’s in the first round played on Sunday.  Andre didn’t start well, dropping a shot at the par 5 first hole, but he played solid golf thereafter with 6 birdies and no further dropped shots.  The highlight of Jade’s round was an eagle 2 at the par 4 fifth hole.  He also had 4 birdies and dropped his only shot of the day at the par 3 eighth hole.  It is fantastic to see 2 KeNako students sharing the lead at a major amateur tournament.  We wish both Andre and Jade good golf for the rest of the week!
