Jade Buitendag followed up his first round 67 with a second round 3 under par 69 to win the Mabs Abel Trophy at the Pro Shop Northern Amateur Championship being played at Randpark. The Mabs Abel Trophy goes to the 36 hole leader when the cut is made. Jade is 2 shots ahead of his friend and fellow KeNako student Andre Nel, who followed his first round 67 with a one under par 71. Andre is tied second with Ryan Dreyer from Central Gauteng. Another outstanding performance came from Cameron Moralee, who was well outside the cut line after a first round 76 but he moved all the way up into a tie for 16th place after a second round 68 to finish at level par after the first 2 rounds. 64 Players made the cut at +5.
