Andre Nel played excellent golf to help South Africa into 3rd place in the annual International Tri-Nations Test played at Rowallan Castle Golf Club in Ayrshire, Scotland. Australia and Scotland were joint winners on a total score of 424, with the best 3 individual scores counting in each round out of the 4 players on the team. The South African A-team, comprising Andre Nel, Kyle McClatchie, Tristen Strydom and Aubrey Beckley, had successive rounds of 215 for a total of 430. Andre enjoyed the best score on day one with a 3 under par 68, with Kyle McClatchie scoring 71 and Tristen Strydom 76. In round 2 Kyle scored a 68, Andre 72 and Tristen 75. South Africa B-team made up of Jovan Rebula, James du Preez, Albert Venter and Jason Smith, combined for a two round total of 448.‪
