The 2016 Southern Cape Matchplay field comprises the top 32 players from the Strokeplay Championships. Caylum Boon and Calvin Maia won their first round matches, whilst Andre Nel was upset, losing his match at the 21st hole. In the round of 16 Calvin lost, but Caylum had another comfortable win and he will be playing in the Quarter-finals this afternoon.
