The final Open National Ranking tournament of the year, the Harry Oppenheimer Trophy, was played at Maccauvlei Golf Club on the Vaal River near Van der Bijl Park.Students André Nel, Jade Buitendag, Caylum Boon and Mandla Dlamini competed in the tournament. André Nel was well positioned after an excellent 65 in round 2 to move up into a tie for 5th place, as were Jade Buitendag (T13th at 143) and Caylum Boon (T16th – 144). André had 7 birdies and no dropped shots in his 65. The top 64 players made the cut. Unfortunately, the final 2 rounds of the tournament were cancelled due to inclement weather so scores after 2 rounds became the final result.
