Whilst it is mostly those who are achieving who grab the Headlines, there are many behind-the-scenes stories that are worthy of mention. A few weekend 15-year-old Loïc Ettlin scored 72 and 72 for a level par total of 144 at the South African Amateur Championship. This was an excellent result for Loic, whose score was incredibly only tied 80th at South Africa’s most prestigious amateur tournament. As Loïc said when we spoke to him, in Switzerland he would not have expected to be far off the top 10 with a level par 36 hole total. The quality of golf at Humewood was outstanding and the experience would have done Loïc the world of good. Well played Loïc, who is now safely back at KeNako participating in the academy programme.
