The Southern Cape team had an excellent result on day one of the SA IPT, beating a strong KwaZulu Natal team 6,5 to 5,5. Caylum Boon had a good day.In the morning foursomes he partnered Hans-Jurie Human as the No.1 pair and they shot 66 to halve their match, including making 4 consecutive birdies at the last 4 holes to recover from being 2 down. In his afternoon singles match Caylum beat South Africa’s No. 7 ranked amateur Clayton Mansfield 1 up. In his singles match Caylum also finished strongly with birdies at the Bryanston Country Club’s final 2 holes, an excellent achievement. The KwaZulu Natal team has 3 players ranked in the top 10 of South Africa.
