KeNako Academy golfer Calvin Maia was selected to represent the Southern Cape in the recent 2021 Premier IPT at San Lameer. Although the team had higher expectations of the results achieved it was an overall enriching experience for the young players.

Calvin Maia’s shares his thoughts and experience on the event; “IPT is the biggest amateur event in the country with some of the best amateurs from each province competing there. Southern Cape has always been a strong team, even though we went there as a young team, we didn’t doubt ourselves. We were blessed with great team dynamic and very supportive management, environment and support structure. Being selected for main IPT is a goal for every amateur and I’m proud to have represented the province twice. As far as my experience goes in the tournament, I played number 1 or 2 and therefore it was a good challenge to take on, and one that I enjoyed. I may not have gotten the results I wanted but I learnt a lot for my future game.”
