Zimbabwean national Matthew Bramford travelled to the USA in the beginning of the year to compete in the Junior Orange Bowl International Golf Championship hosted at Biltmore Golf Course from 2 – 6 January. Matthew was set to compete in several US tournaments but Covid-19 restrictions prohibited travel. He was, however, elated when restrictions were eased and he could compete in the 58th annual championship in Miami.
“Playing the Orange Bowl in the USA was a totally new experience for me. The level of competition and the different type of golf course outlined the area of my game that I need to work on and I am looking forward to playing in that environment again. The experience broadened my horizon, thinking and play. It was amazing to see and experience a first world country and seeing so many different cultures just in one city was something very new compared to back home.”
Matthew finished tied 40th in the tournament. It is wonderful to see you exposed to new experiences and evolving as a player.
